Thomas Bewick Walks: the Pedestrian Engraver

There will be a public lecture ‘Thomas Bewick Walks: the Pedestrian Engraver’ by Peter Quinn, Chair of The Bewick Society, on the evening of Thursday 13th November.

Please encourage a friend or two to come along to ensure a good audience on the evening. This event will take place in the Lamesley Room of the Gateshead Civic Centre, starting at 6.30pm (lecture begins at 7pm prompt), there will be time to view the ‘Bewick & Back: Wildlife, Walking & Art’ exhibition and in the lecture room there will be an exhibition on the walks i.e. photographs, poems and prose arising out of the Bewick Walks.

The ‘Bewick & Back: Wildlife, Walking & Art’ exhibition is located in the public art space of the Gateshead Civic Centre and features an assemblage of new facsimiles taken from Bewick's wonderful wood engravings. Car parking is available at the Civic Centre (charges apply), which can be found using the postcode NE8 1HH. If using public transport, the Civic Centre is around four minutes walk from Gateshead Interchange. We hope you can get along to see it at some time.

On Friday 24th October, the project made the front page of The Journal, with an article about the Exhibition, you can see this at http://www.thejournal.co.uk/north-east-analysis/analysis-news/north-east-artistic-great-thomas-7988585
