Bewick and Back with WALK

To Bewick and Back – From Cherryburn into History celebrates renowned engraver Thomas Bewick’s work and his influence as a natural historian, sharing this heritage with people using: exhibitions of facsimiles of his ‘wood engravings’, guided walks, a public lecture, and showings of new art stimulated by an experience of Bewick’s landscape

The project includes a series of four FREE guided walks that explore a 45km route along the River Tyne during late August and September 2014. The walks follow a route between Thomas Bewick’s house in Gateshead and his birthplace at Cherryburn in Northumberland.
